Peng Hsuan Liaw
Industrial Design/Service Design/UX Design
New York, U.S.A.
My name is Peng Hsuan Liaw (also known as Oscar), a multidisciplinary designer originally from Taipei, Taiwan, and currently based in the United States since 2007. I hold a B.F.A. in Industrial Design and an M.F.A. in Service Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Additionally, I have completed all doctoral coursework toward an Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University. I’ve also earned certifications in Google UX Design and Designing the Future of Work through Coursera and IDEO U.
Throughout my career, I’ve contributed to a diverse range of industries, including food import, nonprofit, education, and manufacturing, taking on roles that blend visual design, UX strategy, and digital marketing. My responsibilities have included graphic design, copywriting, 3D rendering, product photography, branding, UX research, wireframing, and content strategy. I’ve also developed and delivered educational experiences in design, supporting students in portfolio development, personal branding, and storytelling.
These cross-functional experiences have enabled me to approach projects from multiple lenses—user, stakeholder, and business—allowing me to identify needs and shape strategic, creative solutions. My approach is rooted in human-centered thinking, supported by strong communication and collaboration skills. I prioritize clarity, empathy, and responsiveness in every aspect of creative execution, whether crafting campaign visuals, writing conversion-focused copy, or mapping out user flows for digital platforms.
With a foundation in service design and leadership education, I possess a unique ability to bridge the gap between design and strategy. I’m particularly drawn to digital marketing environments where storytelling, design systems, and brand voice converge to drive audience engagement and foster long-term value.
